Choosing the Right Women’s Supportive Footwear
When choosing supportive footwear, it is important to consider more than just softness alone.
The right shoes should provide:
- Proper support and stability
- Enough room for natural toe movement
- Comfortable pressure distribution
- Secure fastening for improved fit
- Long-lasting comfort throughout the day
Supportive footwear can help improve walking comfort while reducing unnecessary strain on the feet and joints.
Which fitting do you need?
Every style in this collection is made on one of four fittings, and knowing yours makes choosing far easier. EE is our regular fit. EEE adds room across the forefoot — usually right for bunions or a naturally broader foot. 4E adds depth as well as width, for swelling that changes through the day or thicker orthotics. 6E is our widest and deepest last, sized for significant swelling, bandaging, AFOs or fuller orthotics.
Every shoe has a removable insole, so a prescribed orthotic can go straight in. If you are not sure which fitting you need, our fitting guide explains how to measure length, width and depth at home — or visit the Farnham showroom for a free fitting, where we measure both feet and you can compare fittings side by side.
