How the support is used

The adjustable system connects around the lower leg and assists the front of the foot during the step. It is not a rigid moulded AFO, and it should not be assumed to suit every cause or severity of foot drop.

Footwear compatibility

A secure shoe with enough room around the instep and an opening that allows the supported foot to enter is the practical starting point. Test the support with the exact footwear rather than buying a longer size automatically.

Sizing and adjustment

Choose the product size from the measurements on the product page. The lifting tension should support the forefoot without pulling the foot into an uncomfortable position or creating rubbing around the cuff.

Questions we are asked

Will it fit inside any shoe?

No. Its low-profile design may work with many shoes, but the fastening, instep room and shape of the selected footwear still matter.

Is it the same as a custom AFO?

No. A custom AFO is prescribed and made or selected for an individual's clinical needs. The current product is an adjustable retail support.

Should new foot drop be assessed?

Yes. New, changing or unexplained foot drop, weakness or repeated tripping needs medical assessment rather than online self-selection alone.

If you already use an NHS- or clinic-supplied device, do not replace it without discussing the change with your orthotist, physiotherapist or clinical team.
