Bunion & Forefoot Supports

A prominent big-toe joint can be uncomfortable when it is pressed by footwear, but a night support and a daytime pad are different products with different uses.

The current Bunion & Forefoot Supports collection is centred on an adjustable hallux valgus night splint. It is designed to hold the big toe in a supported position while the foot is at rest; it is not a separator, forefoot cushion or device to be worn inside a shoe.

More about the current bunion support

A night support, not a shoe insert

The structured splint sits along the side of the foot and uses an adjustable strap around the big toe. Its shape and bulk make it suitable for rest or night-time use, not for walking or for fitting inside footwear.

What footwear can address

During the day, usable width, toe-box shape and an accommodating upper determine whether the shoe presses on the joint. See our shoes for bunions when the main problem is contact from the shoe rather than night-time support.

Adjustment and comfort

Set the strap according to the product instructions without forcing the toe. Stop using the splint if it creates pain, numbness, skin damage or a new pressure area.

Questions we are asked

Can I wear this splint in a shoe?

No. The current product is intended for rest or night-time use and is not designed for walking.

Will it correct a bunion?

We do not make that claim. A bunion is a structural joint change; questions about progression or treatment should be discussed with a podiatrist or foot-and-ankle specialist.

Is it one size?

The current TDO 510 splint is supplied as a universal-size product with an adjustable fastening. Follow the product instructions when setting the strap.

Seek clinical advice if the joint is painful at rest, the skin is breaking down or the toe position is changing quickly.
