Shoes for Knee Pain

Knee pain can make walking, standing and stairs uncomfortable, but no shoe can be promised to treat the cause of knee pain.

We selected the rocker-soled footwear in this collection because its curved sole changes how the shoe moves through a step, allowing it to roll forwards without bending sharply at the forefoot. Underfoot cushioning, a structured sole unit and a choice of roomy fittings provide a supportive base for everyday wear. These are shoes for people seeking a comfortable, structured option while living with knee pain; they are not presented as a treatment or a guaranteed way to reduce symptoms.

More about our rocker sole shoes

To choose between them, start with where you spend the day. Trainers and walking shoes for distance and hard floors; boots for winter and uneven ground; shoes and sandals for indoors and warmer weather. Then the fitting, then the fastening. Every insole lifts out if you wear a prescribed orthotic.

What a rocker sole is

The sole is built with a curve from heel to toe instead of a flat profile. That moves the point where your weight rolls over the foot further forward, so the forefoot flexes less at push-off. It changes how the shoe behaves; it is a construction feature, not a treatment. Most people take a few days to get used to one.

Cushioning and a stable heel

Depending on the model, the removable footbed is either our 6 mm everyday option or a 1 cm moulded option with a contoured arch and metatarsal support. Selected leather models use calf leather, a cushioned middle layer and a smooth seam-free lining; mesh and stretch models use different upper constructions described on their product pages.

Wide fit shoes in EE to 6E

Four fittings on our own lasts, made in our own factory since 2005. A wider fitting keeps the same length and adds width and depth across the forefoot.

Questions we are asked

Do rocker soles help with knee pain?

We do not claim that rocker soles treat knee pain. They change how the shoe rolls through a step, but whether that construction is suitable for you depends on the cause of your symptoms. Ask your physiotherapist or GP if you are unsure.

Do they take getting used to?

Usually yes. The roll-through feels different at first. Wear them indoors for a few short spells before a long day out.

Can I use my own orthotics?

Yes. Lift our insole out first; the depth underneath is what makes room.

Knee pain has many causes and is managed in different ways. Speak to your GP or a physiotherapist about assessment and an appropriate plan; footwear is a comfort choice alongside that care, not a replacement for it.
